Set amongst the apple orchards just north of Saumur and 1km outside the little hamlet of Parcay les Pins "Les Courosses" is ideally situated for exploring the French "Valley of the Kings". Though the setting is peaceful the village has all the basic facilities, even day old UK newspapers. There is a small restaurant which serves a fixed 3 course meal with wine for 55 francs. Major supermarkets are only 9 km. away.

About a 10 minute drive east is the nature reserve and lake of Pincemaille. There is an extensive network of walks and cycle paths around the reserve and one end of the lake has been set aside for swimming, windsurfing and boating. Fishing permits can be obtained locally. There are also two café/brasseries overlooking the lake.

Saumur is about 25-30 minutes away, Tours 50 minutes, where trains to Paris take only 1 hour.

To get to "Les Courosses" from Parcay Les Pins take the D86 towards Giseaux. Depending on whether you go through the village or not you will find the local "Stade" either in front of you or to your right at a crossroads. Continue on the D86 towards Giseaux. After about 0.5 km you will pass a large green building on the right..

Take the first left. Les Courosses is the second house on the right.
