THE HOUSE - The house is constructed of traditional "Tuffeau" stone with a pitched slate roof. Probably originally built in the late 14th^th or early 15th century "La Grange" would have been a property of some importance at that time. This is reflected in the massive scale of some materials used. The walls are up to 600 cm (2 ft) thick; this keeps the house cool in summer and warm in winter. The main or king beams are 600 x 400 cm and over 8 metres in length. The downstairs is tiled with "Ancien Carrelages" or old quarry tiles and the superb oak beams are exposed throughout. Upstairs has wood flooring.

SALON DE CHEMINEE - The magnificent main room is 6.3 x 6.8 metres (20 ft x 22 ft). "The Cheminee" is an open tuffeau fireplace about 2 metres wide. Two comfortable leather sofas. Stereo (CDs only) and television provided. Doors to the garden, Dining room and Day room. Open oak staircase to first floor.

DINING ROOM - Separated by a low old wood partition from the kitchen. The Refectory style table will seat 8 easily in a room of suitable size for such a piece of furniture. On arrival you find two bottles of Sparkling Saumur and some fruit juices to enjoy while you plan your holiday from the extensive range of guide books, maps and brochures. KITCHEN - fully modernised with hob, separate eye level fan oven and grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher (powder, salt and rince-aid provided. Equipped with all the essentials. Door to the gardens and through to laundry room with washing machine. Doors to garden and downstairs W.C. and shower room.

DAY ROOM - The smallest room in the house - excepting the two "smallest rooms"- at only 3 x 4 metres it overlooks the sun terrace. The old "four au pain" or bread oven has been opened up and is in use as a wine cellar. Door to the gardens.

BEDROOMS - Two large double and two twin rooms each with wardrobes, chest of drawers etc. All the rooms have at least one window with views over the lovely Anjevin countryside.

BATHROOMS - substantial one upstairs with bath/shower and sink. Separate W.C. Smaller shower room downstairs includes W.C and sink.
